Administration Manager – Theatres Anaesthetics and Critical Care Full Time

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as an Administration Manager, playing a key role in supporting high-quality, patient centred care across Acute Services. You will lead and develop a professional administrative service that enables clinical teams to deliver safe, effective and timely care. Working within one of the UK’s largest health boards, you will be part of a values-driven organisation committed to dignity, respect and continuous improvement. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

• Glasgow Royal Infirmary
• Fixed-term for 12 months
• Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead secretarial, administrative and clerical teams within a designated clinical service
• Provide day-to-day operational leadership, including recruitment, performance, attendance and staff development
• Plan, review and improve administrative processes to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
• Monitor staffing resources and budgets, ensuring services meet clinical and operational demands
• Implement and monitor standard operating procedures, key performance indicators, and patient administration standards
• Work closely with clinical managers, governance leads and stakeholders to support service redesign and improvement

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

• Significant administration management experience within an NHS acute hospital environment
• Proven experience of supervising and managing administrative and clerical staff
• Excellent understanding of patient administration procedures, NHS systems and data standards
• Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and patient administration systems
• In-depth knowledge of GDPR, patient confidentiality and information governance requirements
• Excellent organisational communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously and remain calm under pressure
