The role involves controlling technical documentation in line with ISO 19650 principles, quality assurance processes, and project workflows within a Tier 1 contractor environment, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant information across the project lifecycle at the Thames Water plant at Coppermills in London E17.This is a key, senior role supporting engineering, construction, health & safety, and handover activities, working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and the client to maintain robust information management standards.Job DescriptionKey ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain document control processes in line with ISO 19650 and project proceduresControl engineering and project documentation throughout the project lifecycleRegister, issue, track, and archive documents using the project CDEManage transmittals, version control, revision status, and approval workflowsEnsure metadata consistency and correctly file naming conventions are appliedCoordinate document reviews with engineering disciplines and external stakeholdersMaintain document registers, deliverables trackers, and audit trailsSupport internal and external audits, ensuring document compliance with QA systemsControl H&S documentation including CDM-related recordsProduce weekly document status and progress reportsSupport procurement, construction, and commissioning teams with controlled documentationManage and support handover documentation, including:As-built recordsO&M manualsH&S filesRequired Skills And CompetenciesDocument Control, Standards & ComplianceStrong working knowledge of ISO 19650 information management principlesUnderstanding of BS EN standards relevant to engineering documentationExperience working within quality assurance frameworks and audit environmentsConstruction & Infrastructure Project ExperienceProven experience working for Main Contractors or Tier 1 contractorsBackground in water, wastewater, utilities, heavy civils, or infrastructure projectsFamiliarity with:Method StatementsITPsTechnical SubmittalsRFIsAs-built documentationO&M manualsUnderstanding of CDM Regulations and health & safety documentation controlInformation Management & Workflow SkillsConfident managing:Transmittals and document issue processesRevision and change controlApproval and review workflowsDeliverables register and document schedulesExperience setting up and maintaining:Folder structuresUser permissionsWorkflows within Common Data Environments (CDEs)Software & Technical SkillsStrong experience with document management systems such as:SharePointAutodesk platformsThinkProjectProjectWiseAdvanced Microsoft skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)Knowledge of BIM naming conventionsExperience using PDF mark‑up tools (Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat Pro)Ability to manage large CAD file sets and file conversionsExcel dashboard or Power BI exposure is desirable but not essentialSoft Skills & Ways Of WorkingExceptional attention to detail, particularly for revision controlConfident in liaising with engineers, subcontractors, and client teamsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to challenge and push back diplomatically where standards are not metCapable of training and guiding project teams on document control processes and systemsProactive, organised, and able to manage multiple prioritiesEligibilityApplicants must have the right to work in the UK.As a company that values diversity as a source of talent, we work to foster an inclusive environment that promotes respect, belonging and engagement so that all people can participate on an equal opportunity basis.
