We are pleased to invite applications from newly qualifying nurses to join UHD through our Newly Qualified Nurse Recruitment Programme, supporting a September qualification and onboarding pathway.
This recruitment campaign supports appointment across all University Hospital Dorset sites within a range of clinical services, including acute wards and specialist areas. Successful candidates will be matched to suitable clinical areas following interview and allocation, taking into account service needs and available opportunities.
You will be supported through a structured transition into practice, including access to preceptorship and early career development, helping you build confidence, competence and experience in your first qualified role.
Who This Opportunity Is For
This recruitment opportunity is open to applicants who:
You will join UHD as a Band 5 Staff Nurse, delivering high‑quality, compassionate care as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
You will be expected to work flexibly across UHD sites in line with service needs and participate in rota‑based working, including weekends and some bank holidays, in line with standard NHS shift patterns.
Appointment to Band 5 is subject to successful completion of the nursing programme and NMC registration.
University Hospitals Dorset can offer sponsorship where required. However, due to the fixed timescales of the Newly Qualified Nurse Programme, this role is not suitable for applicants who would need to leave the UK in order to apply for a visa, as this would delay appointment beyond the programme start date.
Applicants whose circumstances do not align with the Newly Qualified Nurse September intake may not be eligible for this recruitment programme.
