The companyMagdalen Medical Publishing (MMP) is a digital publisher of online, independent, open-access medical news and education for healthcare professionals (HCPs) via our video journals, including VJHemOnc, VJOncology, and VJNeurology. In addition, we also we develop and organise in-person scientific workshops and virtual webinars via our events arm, Magdalen Scientific.We provide HCPs with trustworthy, rapid, accessible updates in their field. Our goal is to improve understanding of the clinical landscape, empowering healthcare professionals to deliver the best quality care and improve the lives of patients worldwide.The roleMMP is seeking a Junior Designer to work alongside our Lead Designer to support the team in producing visually compelling designs that align with the style of our video journals and events. Day-to-day you will help design and create both digital and print assets for various channels, including websites, social media, and event materials. Working across multiple journals and products, the candidate should be comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously and able to manage their time and prioritise jobs accordingly.What you’ll doAs the Junior Designer, you will:Collaborate with the Lead Designer to create visually engaging digital and print assets forvarious platforms, including websites, social media, email campaigns, and print materialsWork closely with the marketing and publishing teams to deliver assets on time andsupport ongoing activitiesAssist in designing marketing materials, sales presentations, and event collateral that alignwith brand guidelines and objectivesAdapt and resize existing designs for different formats and platforms, ensuringconsistency and high-quality outputContribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative input to enhance visualstorytelling across all channelsStay updated on design trends and industry best practices to contribute fresh ideas toprojectsRequirementsCandidate should be located within commuting distance our Ipswich office and beavailable to work up to 3 days per week in the officeAbility to be a creative and innovative thinker who can do their own research into subjectmatter and create visuals that are original, interesting, and relevantExcellent attention to detail, ensuring designs are to spec, with relevant contentProficiency with design software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator)Familiarity with additional software tools (e.g. Adobe XD, After Effects, MicrosoftPowerPoint – preferable but not essential)Solid understanding of design principles (including typography, typesetting, colour theory,layout)Ability to design and produce artwork for both digital and print formatsConfident in managing competing priorities and deadlinesReceptive to feedback and requests for amendsApplication ProcessTo apply, please submit your CV, cover letter and a sample of your work.
