About usMachnet Medical Robotics (MMR), founded in 2020, is on a mission to revolutionise medical robotics. Our guiding principle is simple: innovation must improve patient outcomes, support clinicians without disrupting workflows, and empower healthcare staff rather than adding burden.MMR is a well-funded company with long-term investors and a solid financial foundation. Our hardware and software teams have developed a fully functional prototype of our medical robotic platform, validated through successful preclinical studies. We are now advancing to the next stage: system maturation toward production and regulatory approval, ensuring safety, reliability, scalability, and readiness for clinical deployment worldwide.About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated System Test Engineer to design, execute, and maintain rigorous test processes for MMR’s advanced robotic platform. This role will focus on validating integrated system performance across hardware, software, and control systems, ensuring that every component and interface operates safely and reliably within our regulated medical framework. You will work closely with Systems Engineering, Quality, and R&D teams to define test strategies, develop test setups and fixtures, and analyse system behaviour across varied operating conditions. The role will initially focus on hands-on system and bench testing, with increasing responsibility over time for formal verification activities and contribution to regulatory V&V as the product matures. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a next-generation healthcare technology from prototype through to commercial readiness.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and execute system-level and subsystem-level test plans to verify product functionality, safety, and performance.Develop and maintain test documentation including test plans, protocols, and reports, ensuring full requirements traceability.Support the development and validation of hardware test setups, including fixture design, calibration, and verification of data integrity.Analyse test data to identify trends, characterise performance, and support root cause analysis of failures.Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure integration readiness and alignment on test outcomes.Contribute to risk-based testing and verification of safety-critical functions in alignment with ISO 14971 principles.Participate in FMEA and system-level reliability assessments, providing test evidence for risk mitigations.Support continuous improvement of test methodologies, automation tools, and documentation processes.Engage with external test partners where required (e.g., safety, EMC, and environmental compliance testing).Who we are looking forDegree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, Biomedical, or a related engineering discipline.2–4 years of experience in systems or validation testing for complex electromechanical products (medical or other regulated industries preferred).Strong understanding of system integration, test design under hardware variability, and structured sampling approaches.Familiarity with structured debugging and root cause analysis methods.Excellent documentation and communication skills with a disciplined engineering approach.Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and collaborating across technical functions.Experience we valueExperience with verification and validation under regulatory frameworks (e.g., FDA, CE, UKCA).Knowledge of applicable medical standards (e.g., IEC 60601).Hands-on experience with robotics systems, sensors, control loops, motion systems, and safety interlocks.Experience designing and validating mechanical or electrical test fixtures.Practical experience with programming (Python or similar).Ability to interpret complex data sets and translate results into actionable design feedback. Why join us?At MMR, you’ll contribute directly to transforming the way medical robotics are developed, tested, and deployed in real clinical environments. Your work will influence the reliability, safety, and trustworthiness of technology making its way into hospitals across the world. We value curiosity, precision, and collaboration, and we’re building a team that thrives on engineering excellence and ethical innovation. What do we offer?Work at the intersection of robotics, AI, and healthcare with a mission-driven global team.Hands-on engineering culture with access to advanced prototyping and test facilities in central London.Continuous learning opportunities through workshops, conferences, and professional development programs. An inclusive and diverse environment that encourages initiative and creativity.Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and responsibility.
