strengthening governance, enhancing internal controls, and building a best‑in‑class financial reporting capability as SHI transitions to a Big 4 external auditor.The VP – Group Accounting will drive audit readiness, technical excellence, and global standardisation—ensuring the Accounting function operates with the highest levels of integrity, transparency, and scalability to support SHI’s continued global growth.Role Description Leadership & OrganisationLead and develop a global accounting organisation of ~20 FTE across the US and UKBuild a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, continuous improvement, and excellenceDevelop clear career pathways and succession planning across the Accounting functionEstablish Accounting as a destination function, attracting top talent from across Finance Financial Close, Reporting & ConsolidationOverall owner of the end‑to‑end accounting cycle, including monthly close, consolidation, and results productionEnsure high‑quality, timely reporting with strong performance and control discipline, culminating in formal monthly CFO reviewsOwn Group consolidation processes across all entities, currencies, and business linesEnsure consistency, accuracy, and transparency of reported financial results Statutory Reporting & ComplianceOwn all entity statutory reporting across IFRS and local GAAP requirements globallyEnsure compliance with jurisdictional regulations and filing obligationsMaintain a robust framework for managing multi‑territory reporting complexity Audit & GovernanceFull ownership of the Group audit process, including calendar, execution, issue management, and sign‑offLead the transition to a Big 4 audit environment, establishing audit‑ready processes and documentationStrengthen governance frameworks, accounting policies, and internal controlsAct as the primary interface with external auditors and key stakeholders Controls & Risk ManagementConduct a comprehensive review of the control environment across AccountingDesign and implement a best‑in‑class internal control framework aligned with leading practicesEstablish sustainable controls over financial reporting (including SOX‑readiness where relevant)Drive remediation of control gaps and continuous improvement of control effectiveness Technical Accounting & PolicyOwn Group technical accounting, including complex areas such as:Revenue recognition (ASC 606)Multi-element arrangements (hardware, software, cloud, services)Ensure robust documentation, judgment frameworks, and policy governanceServe as the central authority for accounting interpretation and standards applicationProactively assess and manage the impact of new accounting standards Transformation & Continuous ImprovementDefine and execute a global roadmap to elevate Accounting across:Technical accounting capabilityReporting quality and timelinessControl environment maturityDevelop clear resourcing plans to support transformation objectivesStandardise and simplify processes across regions and entitiesDrive automation and efficiency across accounting workflows Systems Ownership & ERP TransformationOwn all core Accounting systems, including ERP, BlackLine, and WorkVivaLead Accounting’s role in the ERP transformation programme (commencing 2026), including:End‑to‑end process design and workflow ownershipControl integration and standardisationTraining, adoption, and change managementPartner closely with the executive PMO and leadership team to provide input, challenge, and recommendationsEnsure Accounting requirements are fully embedded in system design and delivery Business Partnership & Strategic SupportPartner with Finance, FP&A, Tax, and Operations to support business decision‑makingImprove financial insight, reporting clarity, and executive decision supportSupport strategic initiatives, including M&A integration (where relevant), new business models, and expansionExperienceSkill Level Requirements15+ years in progressive accounting leadership roles, including global controllershipProven experience leading accounting functions in complex, multi‑entity, multi‑jurisdiction organisationsSignificant experience working with Big 4 auditors, including leading external auditsDemonstrated track record in building governance, controls, and audit‑ready environmentsERP transformation experience (design, implementation, or major upgrade)Experience in technology, distribution, services, or similarly complex revenue environments preferredTechnical ExpertiseDeep knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS (dual-reporting experience highly desirable)Strong technical accounting capability, particularly in revenue recognition (ASC 606)Experience with consolidation, multi-currency accounting, and statutory reportingFamiliarity with BlackLine, Workiva, and modern ERP platformsLeadership & Personal AttributesStrong executive presence with the ability to influence at Board and C‑suite levelHigh intellectual rigour with strong attention to detail and control disciplineProven leader of high‑performing teams across geographiesChange agent with a track record of transformation and continuous improvementStrong communication skills—able to translate complex accounting into clear business insightQualificationsChartered Accountant / CPA (or equivalent)
