WAM Engineering offers a “one-stop-shop” service, including planned maintenance, reactive repairs, and mobile fridge/freezer trailer solutions for clients in sectors like hospitality, healthcare, education, and events.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Commercial Catering and Refrigeration Engineer role based in Bristol. The engineer will install, commission, service, and repair a wide range of commercial gas and electrical catering equipment, refrigeration units, and washware across client sites in the region. Day-to-day responsibilities include attending planned preventative maintenance visits, responding to reactive breakdown calls, diagnosing faults, and carrying out safe, compliant repairs. The role also involves completing accurate service reports, maintaining van stock and tools, liaising with the office team for scheduling, and communicating clearly with clients on work carried out and any further recommendations. The engineer will follow all relevant health and safety and industry regulations, represent WAM Engineering’s values on-site, and contribute to continuous improvement in service quality and customer satisfaction.Qualifications Strong technical skills in commercial catering equipment service, maintenance, and repair (gas and electrical), with experience working on ovens, grills, fryers, dishwashers, and related appliances.Proficiency in commercial refrigeration service and diagnostics, including walk-in cold rooms, freezers, display units, and ice machines.Relevant industry qualifications, such as COMCAT (commercial catering gas qualifications), F-Gas or equivalent refrigeration certification, and up-to-date health and safety training.Proven ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals, and to use diagnostic tools and test equipment effectively.Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills, with a methodical and safety-conscious approach to work on client sites.Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally to a range of stakeholders.Good time management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage workload, complete job sheets accurately
