The role involves undertaking a range of functions relating to environmental protection including air quality, contaminated land, permitted processes, investigation of statutory nuisances, reviewing and advising on planning and licensing applications.

This post is focused upon delivering services for Peterborough City Council and Rutland County Council as part of our Regulatory Services shared service agreement, and you will be required to work closely with colleagues and with our external partners based in both Peterborough and Rutland offices. The diverse demographic and geographic nature of the area covered by the service makes it an ideal ground for the professional development of any officer.
All About You
The successful applicant will be a motivated officer with a passion for environmental protection with an environmental or science based Degree. We are also willing to consider newly qualified graduates, with the necessary attributes, who we will be able to train and develop into the role.
The role requires excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to work, and a solution focused outlook. We are happy to receive applications from people looking for both full time and part time employment, and though ideally looking for experienced officers we would consider applicants who have relevant skills and qualifications suited to a Pollution Control Officer Post.
