About the opportunity

You will be enrolled onto an Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Apprenticeship, with the view to learn technical support and expertise for areas of the engineering and manufacturing function. Whilst you will attend college and learn hands on engineering skills the role will be office based for the days you don’t attend college. The role will initially be an administration support role, working on the following:

• Booking RFQs into the system.

• Updating trackers.

• Chasing supplier quotes.

• Other ad-hoc administrative tasks.

The role will develop into a Sales Engineer role with duties that include:

• Understanding customers’ engineering.

• Breaking down bills of material.

• Understanding how to read a drawing.

• Understanding Hyde’s manufacturing capabilities.

• Understanding different commodities and how we can offer a solution to each.

• Able to manage quotations.

• Communicate with customers and suppliers.

Essential Skills

• Must have GCSE English and Maths grade 4 or higher.
