About This Role
We are seeking to appoint a Lunchtime Controllers to support the safe and effective supervision of students during snack breaks and the lunch period at John Rankin School. Working under the direction of the Senior Lunchtime Controller, you will help ensure students are safe, well supported and engaged in suitable activities during lunchtime, including in the dining hall and other areas of the school.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes supervising students during snack breaks and lunch periods, supporting their welfare and safe conduct, and helping to maintain a calm, positive and orderly lunchtime environment. You will support appropriate student behaviour in line with school expectations, remain proactive and vigilant in identifying any concerns, and ensure accidents are recorded and reported so that appropriate action can be taken.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidates will enjoy working with children and young people and will have a clear commitment to their wellbeing and safety. You will have communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to support positive interactions with students and colleagues, together with a reliable, responsible and flexible approach. A First Aid qualification is desirable, but not essential, as willingness to undertake training is also welcomed.
