Role Description The Financial Accountant Lead is a full-time, hybrid role based in Greater London, with a mix of on-site work and some work-from-home flexibility. This role oversees the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to relevant standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing general ledger activities, coordinating month-end and year-end close processes, and leading the financial reporting cycle for internal and external stakeholders. The Financial Accountant Lead will supervise and mentor junior finance team members, review their work, and support continuous process improvements in accounting workflows and systems. The role also involves partnering with management to provide financial insights, supporting audits, maintaining robust internal controls, and contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Finance and Financial Reporting, with the ability to interpret and communicate financial results clearly.
• Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing Financial Statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Proficient in Accounting Software and related digital tools, with the ability to optimize and streamline accounting processes.
• Advanced Analytical Skills for variance analysis, trend identification, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or significant progress toward qualification.
• Solid knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations (e.g., UK GAAP, IFRS) and internal control best practices.
• Proven experience in a senior or lead accounting role, ideally within a practice or multi-client environment.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
