We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant / Bookkeeper to support the smooth running of our financial operations. This is a great opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven organisation where your work directly supports vital services for older people.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day finance activities. Working closely with the Charity Accountant, you’ll help ensure everything runs efficiently and compliantly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing supplier invoices and payments
- Managing income records (cash, card and services)
- Supporting weekly banking and reconciliations
- Maintaining financial records using Sage 50
- Assisting with invoicing, credit control and payment tracking
- Preparing reports (including weekly income breakdowns)
- Supporting audit preparation and year-end processes
- Monitoring financial discrepancies and raising any concerns
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a finance or bookkeeping role (minimum 5 years preferred)
- Confident using Sage Line 50
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage their own workload and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a wider team
- Methodical, reliable and proactive in approach
A relevant finance qualification is desirable.
