Job description:We are seeking a reliable and proactive Student Accommodation Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a student accommodation site in Leeds. This is a hands-on management role requiring strong organisational, people management, and compliance skills, with responsibility for resident experience, site performance, and financial administration.You will act as the main point of contact on site, ensuring smooth operations, high standards of service, and full regulatory compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Site ManagementManage daily operations of the student accommodation siteEnsure the building is safe, secure, clean, and well-maintainedOversee reception, security, housekeeping, and maintenance teamsAct as the main point of contact for residents and handle issues professionallyCompliance & Health & SafetyEnsure full compliance with health & safety and fire safety requirementsMaintain all statutory compliance documentation, including FRA, EICR, PAT testing, water hygiene logs, incident reports, and auditsCarry out regular site inspections and risk assessmentsResident Experience & WelfareManage student check-ins, check-outs, room moves, and occupancy recordsDeal with welfare concerns sensitively and escalate where requiredEnforce tenancy terms and house rules consistentlyFinancial Administration & Rent CollectionChase outstanding rent and other resident payments in line with company proceduresMaintain accurate arrears and payment recordsLiaise with finance teams regarding invoicing, reconciliations, and reportingManage council tax exemptions for student residentsLiaise with Leeds City Council regarding exemptions and liabilitiesPeople ManagementManage staff rotas, attendance, holidays, and performanceRecruit, train, and supervise site staffEnsure shift handovers, logs, and reports are completed accuratelyContractor & Stakeholder ManagementCoordinate contractors for repairs, servicing, and compliance worksLiaise with local authorities, emergency services, and external partnersSkills & Experience RequiredEssentialPrevious experience in student accommodation, residential property, or hospitality managementExperience chasing rent arrears and managing resident paymentsStrong understanding of health & safety and complianceConfident managing people and handling challenging situationsStrong administrative and organisational skillsCompetent with Microsoft Excel and property management systemsDesirablePrevious PBSA experienceExperience working within ANUK-aligned or similar accreditation frameworksKnowledge of student welfare, safeguarding, and escalation proceduresExperience supporting re-bookings, occupancy drives, and retention initiativesFirst Aid, Fire Marshal, IOSH, or other relevant Health & Safety certificationsJob Types: Full-time, PermanentApplication question(s): Are you able to work 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, including weekends on a rota basis Work Location: In personCompetitive salary
