We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) to join our Out of Hours service, providing high-quality care and support to patients outside of normal working hours. This is a vital role supporting clinical staff and ensuring patients receive safe, person-centred care when they need it most. The role involves supporting patients in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable environment, where strong communication, adaptability, and a calm approach are essential.You will be responsible for providing hands-on care, assisting with clinical duties, and responding appropriately to patient needs, escalating concerns to clinical staff when necessary. The post will require regular driving, including travelling between patients homes over a vast geographical area and accompanying clinicians on home visits. You may also be required to work independently or as a lone worker, particularly during community-based shifts. Confidence in lone working, sound judgement, and adherence to lone worker policies and safety procedures are essential for this role.The RoleThe District Nursing Service operates an open access policy delivering care to patients who are housebound or who have a nursing need which makes a home visit more appropriate, or within a clinic setting.The District Nursing Service will undertake case management, skilled clinical interventions which encompass a broad spectrum of technical expertise, health education and health promotion. in order to rehabilitate or promote and maintain independent living for patients and support carers.No Band 2 roles are eligible for sponsorship under the or routes. For Band 3 roles, only posts of 32 hours per week or more may meet eligibility. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) cannot provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for roles that do not meet these criteria, and applications requiring sponsorship will not be considered.Duration, Location, and Working Pattern: This is a permanent post based at Barron street, G4 9XG.The shift pattern is 5:30-9:30pm various to meet service needs and demands.Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.Key ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will support the nursing team to deliver effective patient care within a community setting.
