What difference will you make?
This role will help Supporting Humanity strengthen the administration of funding applications, grant records, funder reporting and impact updates.
By helping to keep accurate records, maintain funding calendars, track deadlines and monitor submitted applications, the volunteer will support the Funding Team to manage funding activity in a more organised and consistent way.
The role will also help ensure that funding documentation is stored securely and compliantly, and that grant income, expenditure and project outcomes are tracked effectively. This will support clearer reporting and better information for funders.
This administrative support will help the charity secure and manage financial support for its projects and services. Supporting Humanity provides funeral, bereavement and mental health support to people in need, and also organises trips and wellbeing activities to support community spirit and mental health.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a volunteer with good attention to detail and accuracy, strong administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
The ideal volunteer will be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. They should be comfortable maintaining records, updating databases and spreadsheets, tracking funding activity, monitoring deadlines and supporting the preparation of funding reports, evaluations and impact updates.
Previous experience supporting funding, grants or fundraising activities would be desirable. An understanding of the voluntary or community sector would also be desirable.
The role would suit someone who is organised, reliable, accurate and comfortable working with funding documentation, applications, contracts, correspondence, calendars, spreadsheets and reporting dates.

What will you be doing?
The Funding Administrator will support the charity’s fundraising and grant management activities by helping with the preparation, coordination and administration of funding applications.
The volunteer will help maintain accurate electronic and paper records of applications, contracts and correspondence. They will support the preparation and submission of funding applications and supporting documentation, maintain an up-to-date funding calendar with application deadlines and reporting dates, and monitor the progress and status of submitted applications.
They will also help prepare funding reports, evaluations and impact updates for funders. The role includes assisting in identifying potential funding opportunities, grants and charitable trusts, updating databases and spreadsheets relating to funding activity, and ensuring all funding documentation is stored securely and compliantly.
The volunteer will also support the tracking of grant income, expenditure and project outcomes.
