Admissions & Reception Assistant Full Time NEW

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and customer-focused Admissions & Reception Assistant. In this frontline role, you will provide a welcoming and professional service while supporting key admissions processes and delivering a high-quality experience for all students, applicants and visitors.

This role is a 22‑hour contract, working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9.30am–6.00pm.

Role and responsibilities: 

• To provide a welcoming and professional front of house Reception Service for students, staff and visitors.
• Act as the first point of contact, handling enquiries from the public, students and staff in line with safeguarding protocols
• Operate the college switchboard efficiently, ensuring a positive experience for all callers
• Provide excellent customer service across in-person, phone and digital channels
• Respond to course enquiries accurately, clearly and within agreed timeframes
• Support admissions processes for 16–19, adult and Higher Education applications
• Process student applications, ensuring accurate, secure data entry and maintenance
• Produce reports from admissions systems and follow up with applicants on missing information
• Coordinate interview arrangements, including issuing letters and maintaining applicant records
• Assist with enrolment processes and student onboarding activities
• Maintain accurate records, statistics and electronic data in line with GDPR requirements
• Complete administrative tasks to support admissions and reception services
• Use and support college systems effectively
• Work collaboratively within the team to deliver a high-quality applicant and student experience
• Support college events such as Open Evenings, Welcome Days and Advice Sessions
• Promote and uphold safeguarding responsibilities for children, young people and vulnerable adults
• Demonstrate flexibility during peak periods (e.g. enrolment and events)
• Undertake additional duties as required, including working across college sites as needed

• Ensure that the college develops and maintains a constructive relationship with appropriate external stakeholders relevant to the postholder’s areas of responsibility.
