Hand Picked Hotels was founded in 2001 by owner and Chairman, Julia Hands MBE. Whilst each hotel is individual, every property fulfils the company values of family, individuality, community and care, ensuring a hand picked experience for every guest and employee.

We are currently recruiting for a Receptionist at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel, part of Hand Picked Hotels. This role is offered on a casual contract basis and will require working a variety of shifts as required to support the business needs of the hotel.

Stanbrook Abbey Hotel is renowned as one of Worcestershire’s best-kept secrets. With a recent £4.2m renovation, meticulously designed to celebrate the country house hotel’s history, introduced the new brasserie-style dining experience in The Refectory restaurant, situated at the site of the original nun’s cafeteria. An additional eight new bedrooms are situated on the second floor, with a further seven rooms built in the original schoolhouse in St Anne’s Wing, bringing the total number of bedrooms to 70.

• The role of our receptionists is to deliver an exceptional guest experience, by putting the guest at the heart of everything you do, through personalised and thoughtful service with care and attention to detail.
• You will be expected to demonstrate a high level of engagement with guests throughout their stay to make them feel at home, relaxed, and importantly identify and create magical memories at every possible opportunity.
• In collaboration with the Front office team you’ll maintain regular and effective communication to ensure a seamless operation, aware of all the days activities.
• Most of all we will want you to be inspired, have fun and enjoy being part of our Hand Picked Team.

About You

• To be considered for this role you will ideally have knowledge and experience of working in a luxury four or five star hotel within a front office environment.
• Be passionate about going above and beyond for our guests and recognise and skilfully act on opportunities to make the guest experience memorable through offering or suggesting appropriate hotel products and facilities.
• Be able to demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, enabling you to be able to anticipate our guests needs ensuring they receive a Hand Picked experience.
• You’ll have proficient computer skills, including knowledge of hotel reservation systems and Microsoft office. Knowledge of Opera is desirable.
• Through your enthusiasm and willing approach, you will demonstrate how you find solutions to any scenario.
• Act calmly and professionally, maintaining an outwardly positive attitude even when under pressure.
