Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly formed Group Financial Improvement Team — the first finance function to complete its corporate services transformation and now operating as a single, unified service across the Group. Bringing together the strengths of UHBW and NBT, the team combines finance, programme management and improvement expertise to drive better services, better processes and better value for patients and staff. This is not traditional CIP or simple cost reduction; it is about making things work better.
As a Project Manager, you will lead end‑to‑end delivery of improvement projects that support our hospitals and clinical divisions to achieve their cost improvement plans and make best use of limited resources. Working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment, you will play a key role in delivering programmes that make a real difference to patient care while contributing to a forward‑looking and ambitious team
Main duties of the job
Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of end‑to‑end improvement projects across the Bristol NHS Group, ensuring benefits are clearly defined, tracked and realised.
Work within the Group Financial Improvement Team to support large, cross‑cutting programmes using programme management expertise, operational insight and analytical skills to identify opportunities for improvement.
Provide structured project management, ensuring delivery within agreed time, cost and quality parameters.
Build strong, trusted relationships with clinical and operational teams to support successful implementation of improvement schemes.
Use benchmarking, service information and operational intelligence to identify opportunities to improve service delivery, efficiency and value.
Support divisions and corporate areas to develop and deliver efficiency plans, identifying workforce, financial, quality and process benefits.
Operate effectively within a dynamic change environment, managing competing priorities and engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
Contribute to the wider mission of the Group Financial Improvement Team to embed sustainable improvement and deliver better outcomes for patients and staff.
