Job OverviewWard Sister – Cardiac Care Unit (CCU)Frimley Park Hospital – Secondment, Full-TimeWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate Ward Sister to join our Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) at Frimley Park Hospital.The CCU is a 10-bedded unit providing level 1 and 2 care for patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), acute heart failure, cardiogenic shock, brady/tachyarrhythmias, and other complex cardiac conditions.Role OverviewYou will work closely with the Ward Manager to deliver safe, high-quality patient care while leading and supporting the nursing team to maintain strong clinical standards.You will collaborate with the Practice Development Sister to support staff education, training, and ongoing professional development, and contribute to service improvement and the development of the CCU as a centre of excellence.About YouWe are looking for a proactive, clinically skilled cardiac nurse with strong leadership experience and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.Main duties of the jobLead the nursing team to ensure safe, high-quality care for critically ill cardiac patients.Work closely with the Ward Manager to oversee day-to-day ward operations and staffing.Support staff development through effective mentorship, training, and appraisal.Contribute to the education and professional development of both junior and senior nursing staff.Promote and enhance the profile of the unit, supporting its development within the hospital and wider healthcare community.Working for our organisationFrimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is committed to being an inclusive and disability confident employer and has been awarded the Gold for the Armed Forces Employment Recognition Scheme.
