Chair of the Board
North East England
Castle Peak Group is delighted to be supporting the appointment of a new Chair for a highly respected, multi-site education and skills organisation in the North East.
This is a significant Board leadership opportunity at a time of real momentum and transformation. The organisation is recognised nationally for excellence, innovation and community impact, with a strong reputation for delivering outstanding outcomes, developing future talent and shaping regional economic growth through education, skills and partnership.
Operating across multiple campuses and serving communities across the North East, the organisation has invested heavily in its people, facilities and strategic infrastructure in recent years. With ambitious long-term plans, a strong financial position and a clear sense of purpose, it is seeking a Chair who can provide strategic leadership, thoughtful challenge and strong governance stewardship during the next phase of its evolution.
The role will suit an accomplished and credible leader with the ability to operate at Board level within a complex and high-profile environment. You may already hold Chair, Non-Executive or Trustee experience, or you may be a senior executive with the strategic capability, emotional intelligence and leadership presence to step into your first Chair appointment.
We are particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate:
• Significant senior leadership or Board-level experience within complex organisations
• Strong strategic and commercial acumen
• The ability to lead inclusive, high-performing governance environments
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and ambassadorial capability
• Political awareness and an understanding of regional economic and social priorities
• The confidence to support, challenge and influence constructively
• A genuine commitment to education, skills, opportunity and social impact
• A strong personal commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging
This appointment requires an individual who can build trusted relationships across the Board, Executive and external stakeholder landscape, while maintaining a sharp focus on long-term strategy, organisational sustainability and positive community impact.
The successful candidate will join an organisation that combines ambition with purpose, one that is deeply rooted in the North East whilst operating with national influence and aspiration.
