Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Climbing Instructor based in Taunton. The Climbing Instructor will guide and coach individuals and groups of all skill levels in climbing activities, ensuring safety standards are upheld at all times. Responsibilities include delivering engaging instruction, maintaining climbing equipment, overseeing the climbing facility, and creating an encouraging and safe environment for participants. Work may include both onsite sessions at the YMCA facility and administrative or planning tasks that can be completed from home.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and expertise in climbing techniques, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance
• Strong instructional and coaching skills, with the ability to work with individuals of varying age groups and abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and motivation among participants
• Experience in event planning or activity coordination is an advantage
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet program goals
• Relevant climbing certifications
