As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be at the forefront of providing individualised support and care to students, ensuring they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Your role will involve working closely with class teachers, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement tailored learning strategies that address the unique needs of each child. Whether it’s leading small-group sessions, delivering one-on-one support, or assisting with daily living activities, your dedication and expertise will be invaluable in helping these students reach their full potential.
This position is particularly well-suited for individuals with a genuine passion for special education and a deep commitment to inclusive practices. You will have the opportunity to work in a highly supportive and collaborative environment, where your ideas and initiatives will be valued. By joining our client’s team, you will become part of a community of professionals who share a common goal: to create a nurturing, safe, and enriching learning experience for all students.
The successful candidate will possess a range of skills and qualifications that align with the demands of this role. A Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a similar field is essential, as is experience working with children with special educational needs. You should also have a solid understanding of the SEN Code of Practice, behaviour management strategies, and effective communication techniques.
Attention to detail, patience, and a warm, empathetic approach are all crucial attributes for this position. You will need to be able to adapt your teaching methods and provide tailored support to students with diverse needs, including those with physical, cognitive, or behavioural challenges. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team are also highly desirable.
