We are seeking an exceptional senior design executive — a proven Chief Design Officer, Group Design Director, Senior Design Principal, or elite number 2 from a top global architecture firm, major developer, or integrated construction-led organisation to shape and govern a portfolio of landmark luxury residential, mixed-use, hospitality, office, and commercial developments. This is a strategic C-level mandate focused on design governance, portfolio oversight, product excellence, technical leadership, and commercial alignment across multiple flagship projects.

The Role

As Chief Design Officer / Group Design Director, you will define, lead, and protect the group’s design, planning, technical, and product strategy across all developments from concept through execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio-wide design strategy across large-scale flagship developments

• Act as final internal authority on design, planning, layout, and product decisions

• Oversee concept design, planning, technical design, BIM, interiors, and multidisciplinary coordination

• Build and implement rigorous design governance frameworks, systems, and approval gates

• Align design with branding, sales strategy, market positioning, customer experience, and commercial outcomes

• Partner with executive leadership, construction, and development teams to ensure buildability, quality, and profitability

• Manage and oversee leading international and local architects, consultants, engineers, and design teams

Ideal profile

• Proven experience as Chief Design Officer, Design Director, Group Design Lead, Head of Design, or equivalent

• Senior leadership background within a major real estate developer, mixed-use platform, hospitality group, or globally recognised architecture practice

• Deep expertise across luxury residential, high-rise, mixed-use, hospitality, premium office, and commercial sectors

• Strong planning, technical design, BIM, and full project lifecycle management capability

• Commercially sophisticated with the ability to connect design excellence to product success and sales performance

• International / multi-jurisdiction project leadership preferred
