In the UK, Sika have factories in Welwyn Garden City, Preston, Leeds, and Wishaw. Purpose of the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join a team leading the way within Sika, with goals of striving towards Quality 4.0. The Quality Control Apprentice will be expected to support day-to-day QC activities in the early shift for ensuring the raw materials used and products produced meet the exacting standards that we and our customers expect. At Welwyn Garden City Sika manufacture and develop a range of quality, concrete admixtures and cementitious mortars that are suitable for a wide range of applications within the construction industry.What’s In it for You?The Opportunity: You will assist in carrying out the day-to-day quality control processes within the operational and lab environments. Full training for the role will be provided, alongside an Apprenticeship training in pursuit of a Level 3 Apprenticeship. The Skills:The skillset will be built through the apprenticeship that will develop key Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours that any Materials Testing Technician must possess to perform their role effectively. This will be complemented by a bespoke training by the organisation to address the specific technical and theoretical facets of the core technologies and procedures of the department. The Future: Potential Career Routes: the post holder may progress into a variety of roles within QC (i.e. QC Technician) as well as the Technical Services within the wider organisation.The opportunity to progress within a global company across a variety of business areas is also available.QualificationsWhat we need from you? High level of motivation, diligence, conscientiousnessBe a strong team player with a can-do attitude. Be keen to learn and progress. Have good time keeping manners with basic IT literacy. Willingness and flexibility to work mainly early shifts, with the ability to support learning and operational activities on other shifts when required.
