CDM COORDINATORContract: GovernmentLocation: Birmingham (B37 7YS)Hours of work: 40 hours per weekContract Type: Permanent Make safety count – on a national scale!We’re looking for a CDM Coordinator to play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening health, safety, environmental and quality practices across a major UK government infrastructure programme.This is more than a compliance role. You’ll be a trusted safety professional, influencing how work is planned, managed and delivered—helping embed safe systems of work and robust risk management.The RoleJoining the UK & Ireland Projects team, you’ll support a large-scale government portfolio covering 800 sites nationwide. Working closely with designers, contractors and operational teams, you’ll help ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to the highest standard—reinforcing ISS’s reputation as a leader in safety-focused facilities support.What You’ll Be DoingReview and approve RAMS, challenging content and ensuring they’re fit for purposeIssue Authorities to Work and Permits to Work in line with agreed processesComplete risk assessments, site audits and contractor spot checksProvide practical, proactive HSEQ/CDM guidance to project and operational teamsCoordinate designers and contractors in line with CDM RegulationsPrepare and support PCI/PCC documentation and maintain the Health & Safety FileSupport the rollout and ongoing compliance of HSEQ/CDM plansUse reporting tools to track activity, identify trends and drive continuous safety improvementWhat We’re Looking ForExperience in a CDM, HSEQ or safety role within Projects or Facilities Management IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSHCITB CDM qualificationSSSTS or SMSTS certificationStrong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and HSEQ management systemsFamiliarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001Proven ability to assess risk and influence safer ways of workingA confident communicator, comfortable engaging stakeholders at all levelsHighly organised, able to juggle priorities in a fast-paced environmentA clear commitment to championing a safety-first cultureUK driving licence and flexibility to travel for site auditsThe CompanyISS is a global leader in workplace and facilities management, helping organisations create environments where people and businesses can thrive.
