Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business and have responsibility of vehicle examinations in line with vehicle maintenance instruction, and take responsibility for the safe, efficient and professional workmanship of oneself and others under your control and much more.We’ll look to you for:Detailed fault finding and diagnosticsProvide train systems engineering advice for the vehicle as a whole and for the key vehicle systems (such as TCMS – train control system, HVAC, propulsion, brakes, doors, on-train communications etc.)Produce solutions that provide short term mitigation and long term resolutionMonitoring of warranty issues and liaising with supplier technical teamsAssisting operator in updating of maintenance instructions, overhaul instruction, processes & procedures to optimize maintenance and liaise with Technical Publications Team and Central Engineering teams where requiredMonitor of trains in service using remote monitoring system called OrbitaDownload train data from onboard train data recorders using laptopsRun diagnostics software to identify faults with various train systems i.e. hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, train management systems & on board computers.System software updates as requiredService Provider representation on the internal safety forum, feeding back decisions and outputs to the CustomerContribution to Health and Safety on a daily basis.Gather evidence of faults and create reports to ensure warranty covered parts are replaceUndertake technical maintenance to the required standards, and in accordance with all maintenance instructionsResponsible for the accuracy and completeness of all maintenance documentation prior to Shift Production Manager (SPM) validation and authorisationResponsible to the Shift Production Manager for the accurate identification of outstanding work at the end of the shiftOperation of powered plant, lifting and mechanical handling equipmentEnsuring all problems with processes, tooling and documentation are identified within the team is reported to the Shift Production Manager / Facility Management TeamHighlighting potential Health and Safety concernsCompliance with all laid down H&S legislation and depot procedures to ensure a safe accident free environmentResponsible for keeping the work area clean and tidy and to the highest standards at all timesSupporting the SPM regarding delivery of Quality, Waste Reduction, Delivery and EHS targetsProduce comprehensive reports on specific fault finding investigationsIdentify potential improvements and feedback to EngineeringConstantly searching for ways to improve processesAll About YouWe value passion and attitude over experience.
