Job SummaryAs a Quality Direct Advisor at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), you will play a key role in supporting safe, high-quality services that help save and improve lives. You will provide trusted advice on quality management systems, risk, and business continuity, helping colleagues resolve complex and sometimes sensitive enquiries.Acting as a first point of escalation for the Quality Direct team, you will use your expertise to assess risk, apply policy, and take timely action. You will also support training, audits, and continuous improvement, sharing knowledge, and strengthening how we work across NHSBT.Through your care, expertise, and commitment to quality, you will help ensure our services meet regulatory standards and deliver the best possible outcomes for patients, donors, and colleagues.Main duties of the jobResponsibilitiesIn this role you will provide specialist Quality Management System (QMS), Risk and Business Continuity support and advice to the Quality Direct service, always ensuring customer service excellence and quality expertise. Key responsibilities include:Acting as a first point of escalation for the Quality Direct assistants and admin assistants, for all specialist Quality, Risk and Business Continuity enquiries.Managing advanced quality administrative activities such as Incident Management assessment of quality incidents (occurrences and customer complaints), Pack Defects, Standard Change, Supplier Management and Small-Scale Recall.Conducting training on a regular (minimum, monthly basis) in a formal setting to staff at all levels and advice on the use and understanding of QMS systems.Supporting internal audits of NHSBT functions against current regulations and standards such as BSQR, TSQR and ISO15189.Maintaining Knowledge Base accuracy by analysing customer enquiries and updating articles accordingly.
