Waste ManagerContract: HealthcareLocation: Macclesfield, SW10 9NHHours of work: 40Contract Type: PermanentJob DescriptionTo lead and manage all waste-related activities across CWH, ensuring full compliance With legal, environmental, and operational standards. The Waste Manager will split Their time equally between The main site and the communities sites and will oversee Waste audits documentation, and service delivery, working closely with the Trust to Optimise waste processes and support the achievement of sustainability targets. They Will explore and drive innovation to improve waste segregation practices and deliver ward level education sessions to improve recycling rates.Key Responsibilities Manage the waste management audit schedule and Waste Manager system, including action tracking, closure, reporting, and continuous improvement activities.Liaise with central teams to optimise waste collection schedules and identify opportunities for improved service delivery.Ensure full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements as defined by CWH and ISS.Develop and deliver waste compliance training to ISS teams and Trust clinical staff across the contract.Ensure all ad-hoc waste movements are accurately logged and recorded in the Waste Manager system.Oversee statutory Duty of Care compliance, ensuring accurate completion and management of hazardous waste consignment notes and waste transfer documentation.Support operational teams in arranging waste movements and maintaining appropriate waste documentation records.Collaborate with central ISS teams to optimise collection schedules and identify opportunities to enhance client waste services.Assist the Trust in achieving waste reduction and recycling targets through analysis of reporting data and service optimisation.Demonstrate strong working knowledge and application of HTM 07-01 (Safe Management of Healthcare Waste).Plan and conduct regular waste management audits across both clinical and non-clinical areas.Promote and monitor compliance with the 20:20:60 waste segregation targets.Actively support and drive innovation to promote best practice in healthcare waste management.Professional and Personal Competencies/QualificationsDemonstrates a strong passion for waste management, with the ability to establish clear, measurable goals to deliver excellent service performance.Proven experience in delivering waste management services within a healthcare environment.Membership of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM).Leads by example and actively engages and motivates others.Highly self-motivated, conscientious, and committed to high standards of work.Strong ability to build and maintain effective professional relationships.The CompanyISS is a world-leading workplace and facility management company, connecting people and places to make the world work better.
