Estate Manager Full Time NEW

We are keen to welcome an experienced Estates Manager to our Property team – a lead contact for all estates matters across our UK VetPartners sites – more than 500 in total.

Reporting directly to the Property Director you will be responsible for providing valuable insight into property strategy as an integral member of our Property Team which includes the Head of Property, Head of Construction and our in-house Property Solicitor.

Our property portfolio is large and diverse, ranging from veterinary hospitals to residential properties. There’s scope for a variety of challenges and rewards as you support our practices with their real estate requirements.

The person joining us, ideally a Chartered Surveyor, will come with prior experience of managing a national portfolio, and enjoy liaising throughout a large and friendly organisation.

The Role:

• With frequent new practice acquisitions, disposals, sub-lettings and dilapidation matters, you will be the key point of contact for our landlords across our UK and Ireland portfolio on leasehold transactions.
• In addition you will provide budget and other reports to finance colleagues on rent, rates, insurance, and other service charges.
• Keeping and communicating an up-to-date Estate Management Schedule within an Estate software solution.
• You’ll be responsible for managing, negotiating and concluding all rent reviews, so knowledge of property valuation principles would be an advantage
• You’ll work closely with your colleagues in the Property team to support large scale investment, including applications for landlord’s consent.
• Provide accurate and timely advice on leases and lease events to our practices and internal colleagues.
• Support our external rates consultants by providing lease data and key date information, assisting with the submission of rates returns.
• Support insurance related claims with our contents’ insurers, landlords building insurers, and third-party insurers.
• Supporting the project teams in the delivery of planning consents and building projects across the estate
• Manage dilapidations efficiently
• Though this is a remote role, there is office space available at our York Central support Office, and occasional meetings or site visits may be required around our Estate of practices, across the UK and Ireland.

Experience / Qualifications:

• You will have experience in estate management, for a multi-site portfolio, and an ability to interpret leases and title documents.
• A Chartered Surveyor (General Practice or Estate Management), MRICS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Surveyors) with extensive experience and up to date knowledge of commercial property legislation, estate management and landlord and tenant matters.
• You will have the ability to context switch and manage competing priorities.
• Confident in presenting information accurately, and in interpreting the wider needs of the business.
