Role Description
We are looking for a Senior Sales Development Representative based in London to help BackupSec build pipeline across the UK market.
This is not a junior lead generation role.
This is a market-opening role for someone who has already created pipeline in complex B2B technology markets and knows how to engage senior decision-makers with relevance, confidence, and discipline.
You will be responsible for identifying target accounts, researching buying committees, creating outbound campaigns, qualifying opportunities, and booking high-quality meetings for the commercial team.
Your mission is to open doors with organizations that cannot afford recovery failure.
You will engage IT, cybersecurity, infrastructure, backup, risk, compliance, and resilience leaders across mid-market, enterprise, MSP, MSSP, and service provider accounts.
You will work closely with leadership, sales, marketing, and technical teams to communicate BackupSec’s value proposition clearly:
Backup is not just storage.
Backup is cyber resilience.
And recovery must be proven before a crisis.
You will create conversations through email, phone, LinkedIn, events, social selling, and account-based outbound.
You will research companies, understand their likely backup and recovery challenges, personalize messaging, and build conversations around ransomware recovery, backup observability, backup security, and recovery validation.
This role is for someone who understands that senior SDR work is not measured by activity volume alone.
It is measured by relevance, research, timing, resilience, commercial judgment, and qualified pipeline.
You will own the early part of the sales journey and help shape how BackupSec enters the UK market.
Qualifications
We are looking for a senior, commercially sharp, highly organized SDR with the confidence to engage technical, commercial, and executive audiences.
Required experience and skills:
7+ years of experience in SDR, BDR, outbound sales, business development, pipeline generation, or early-stage enterprise sales roles
Proven experience in B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, backup, data protection, MSP, MSSP, service provider, or enterprise technology markets
Demonstrated success generating qualified meetings with senior stakeholders such as CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors, Heads of Infrastructure, Security Leaders, Backup Managers, Risk Leaders, or Compliance teams
Proven ability to run high-quality outbound prospecting into UK mid-market, enterprise, MSP, MSSP, or service provider accounts
Strong written and spoken English
Experience researching target accounts, mapping buying committees, and identifying decision-makers
Comfortable with email, phone, LinkedIn, social selling, event follow-up, and account-based outbound
Ability to personalize outreach instead of relying on generic sequences
Understanding of qualification frameworks, discovery, pipeline creation, and sales handoff
Experience working with CRM and sales engagement tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Outreach, Salesloft, ZoomInfo, 6sense, or similar
Ability to work with Account Executives, sales leadership, marketing, and technical stakeholders
Strong organization, follow-up discipline, and activity management
Resilience, curiosity, coachability, and a serious work ethic
Ability to operate in an early-stage environment with ownership and urgency
Nice to have:
Existing network across UK cybersecurity, infrastructure, backup, cloud, MSP, MSSP, service provider, or enterprise technology markets
Experience selling or prospecting into CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors, Heads of Infrastructure, Security Leaders, Backup Managers, Risk Leaders, or Compliance teams
Understanding of ransomware, cyber resilience, disaster recovery, backup security, backup observability, RPO, RTO, immutability, recoverability, and recovery validation
Experience with backup, infrastructure, or security vendor ecosystems such as Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Acronis, Veritas, Dell, VMware, Microsoft, AWS, Azure, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar
Experience in account-based outbound motions
Experience working in startup, scale-up, vendor, or regional market expansion environments
