Inspiring Early Years excellence across Gateshead
The Education, Schools and Inclusion team play a pivotal role in the education of adults and children across Gateshead. They offer specialist advice on school improvement, educational psychology services and special educational needs as well as input on school organisation and admission, adult learning and early years childcare. Their work has direct impact on thousands of people across Gateshead and are led by Service Director, Suzanne Dunn.
Our School Improvement Service is a collaborative, supportive and ambitious team dedicated to raising outcomes for children across Gateshead. We work closely with schools, settings, leaders and practitioners to strengthen practice, share expertise and build sustainable improvement. With specialists across Early Years, curriculum development, leadership and inclusion, we pride ourselves on a culture of partnership, reflection and high expectationsalways keeping children at the heart of everything we do.

As the EYFS Good Level of Development (GLD) Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in improving outcomes for our youngest learners across multiple settings. You will model highquality practice, build professional confidence, and support practitioners to deliver consistently strong Early Years provision. Through coaching, training, and collaborative problemsolving, you will help ensure childrenparticularly those with SENDreceive the support, challenge and nurturing start they need to thrive. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference at scale, influencing practice across settings and shaping positive futures for children in the Early Years.
