You’ll collaborate closely across teams, have real ownership from day one and see the impact you have first-hand with flexible working to help you balance the needs of your role with the rhythm of your life.We’ve been recognised as a Great Place to Work UK for seven consecutive years – most recently ranked 29th nationally, jumping 71 places in a single year.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the definition of Technical Best Practice at Homeprotect, forming technical guidelines & processes that underpin our claims handling approachEnsure Homeprotect processes, including those executed by our supply chain, are compliant with the relevant technical regulation/legislation (Building Regulation, CDM, H&S etc)Lead the creation and maintenance of Homeprotect’s Schedule of RatesLead the creation and maintenance of Homeprotect’s scoping philosophyMonitor supply-chain compliance to Homeprotect’s scoping philosophy and work with the Head of Supply Chain to improve compliance where necessary.Provide eyes-on-site for our most complex claims when appropriate.Undertake accompanied site visits with Homeprotect suppliers to embed best practice and ensure good outcomes.Act as a point of referral to resolve technical disputes efficiently.Support the execution of Homeprotect’s Large Loss Framework, building tailored action plans with members of the technical claims team.Support internal and external audit activities, including quarterly technical supplier audits.Provide technical insight that drives continuous improvement.Provide Training/Coaching support across the claims department and champion technical excellence.Identify, analyse and manage emerging trends impacting claims outcomes.Support Root Cause Analysis of complaints and customer feedback.Support the execution of our internal file audit framework, helping to drive forward the necessary technical improvements.Review and approve complex scopes of work.Make decisions regarding liability, coverage and quantum, acting as the escalation point when required.Work closely with supply chain partners to deliver good claims outcomes and collaborate on best practice where appropriate.Support the high value and complex claims identification process.Contribute to the continuous improvement of our claims philosophy and facilitate its delivery, to provide good claims outcomes.Act as an escalation point for complaints and support their resolution.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCEWe would love to hear from people with the following skills and experience for this role:Significant experience in handling property claims that exceed £100,000 on-site as a Loss Adjuster, Surveyor, Building Contractor Manager or equivalent.Significant experience in working with a variety of technical stakeholders to agree the best course of action on complex & high-value claims.Proven experience in handling claims involving non-standard properties, including but not limited to listed buildings.Proven experience in defining a schedule of rates and scoping philosophy.Proven experience in challenging and negotiating contractor scopes, variations and approach.Proven experience in controlling cost on high-value claims, delivering good customer & commercial outcomes.Demonstrable experience working with and applying UK building regulations, CDM regulations & Health & Safety management.Hands-on experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on claim cost drivers and overall claims performance.Experience in completing internal and external technical auditsExperience in sharing your knowledge effectively to train & coach othersExperience in working collaboratively with suppliers to improve technical compliance & performanceExpert knowledge of good practice within the property claims industryExpert knowledge of buildings construction practicesExpert knowledge of damage mitigation & restoration practicesExpert knowledge of cost control techniquesExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex topics in simple languageExcellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret, analyse and summarise dataAbility to provide factual insight to problems faced across the industryAttention to detail, analytical & problem-solving skillsNegotiation, questioning and decision-making skillsContinuous improvement mindsetFocused on delivering good customer outcomes whilst being commercially awareAble to work autonomously, as part of a team and independentlyCII/CILA & BDMA or equivalent qualifications required, RICS/MCIOB qualifications preferrable.BENEFITSWe want you to feel rewarded, supported and set up to thrive throughout your career with us.Learning and Growth: We invest in your development through structured learning, mentoring, buddying, on-the-job experience and cross-functional projects.
