Site Accountant Full Time

About the Role

Due to an internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Accountant to join Pilgrim’s Europe at our Bromborough site.

This is a key leadership position within the site’s senior team, responsible for overseeing all financial activities on site, managing and developing the finance team, and partnering closely with operations and commercial teams to drive performance and profitability.

You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and clear operational insight, helping the business make informed decisions and deliver sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the on-site finance team of three, supporting their development and performance.
• Take ownership of site financial reporting, ensuring weekly and monthly accounts are delivered accurately and on time.
• Produce weekly and monthly P&L reports, providing clear commentary and insight on performance.
• Deliver variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year, identifying key drivers of site performance.
• Own the site balance sheet, ensuring reconciliations are completed and company assets are safeguarded.
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements and internal finance controls, working closely with central audit teams.
• Monitor and analyse daily and weekly operational KPIs, providing actionable insights to site leadership.
• Partner with operations and commercial teams to drive cost control, margin improvement and financial performance.
• Lead the financial aspects of product costing, supporting pricing decisions for new and existing products.
• Manage the site Capex process, including financial evaluation, forecasting and post-investment reviews.
• Support the delivery of budgets and forecasts, working with stakeholders across the site to set clear financial targets.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance margins.

About You

We are looking for a commercially focused finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys working closely with operational teams.

You will bring:

• Qualified Accountant status (CIMA preferred).
• Experience in a site-based finance role within food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Strong commercial and operational finance experience.
• Proven experience managing and developing teams.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• A proactive mindset with the drive to identify opportunities and deliver improvements.
