NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Respiratory, Public Health, Cardiology and other specialties after discussion with the IAT Director
Appointment salary level will be based on the appointee’s existing salary within the NHS.
Salary for doctors who have not yet completed specialist training will be £38,831 to £73,992 per annum (pro rata for part-time), in accordance with the national salary pay scale.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Lecturer to join Norwich Medical School and undertake research within the framework of the School’s research strategy and contribute to the teaching, assessment and module organisation on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, providing supervision to PhD students.
This post is only open to medically qualified doctors who also have a postgraduate degree, either a PhD or an MD (Res) (or equivalent). The post is funded by the NIHR.
You will need to hold an NTN in your specialty and be able to start in post by 1 August 2026 at the latest.
You will have the opportunity to develop your research profile which compliments existing research strengths, seeking national and international recognition. You will develop proposals to secure external funding and disseminate results through academic publications and conferences.
Both MBBS (or equivalent) and a PhD (or MD (Res) is essential for this post.

You will have a track record, appropriate to experience, of high-quality publications and have produced research which has the potential to have an impact beyond academia. Experience of managing enterprise and engagement projects and evidence of successful applications for external grant income would be advantageous.
This full-time post is available to be taken on before 1 August 2026 at the latest, for a fixed term of up to 4 years (two of the years can potentially be post CCT).
